Depending on what side of the Atlantic you’re on, those charming little red and black beetles are either known as ladybirds or ladybugs. But wherever you are, you’re guaranteed to fall in love with this charming collection. Created from 100% James Hare silks and the sparkliest European crystals, these luxury Valentine’s gifts for dogs will get those tails wagging!
Furdrobe’s creative director, Rachelle Fawcett based this special Valentine’s collection on her lifelong love for ladybirds. From searching for ladybirds during her lunchtimes at infant school to reading ladybird books and buying chocolate ladybirds from the local garage with her pocket money, Rachelle’s love of ladybirds has never waned.
The Lovebug collection has a crystal palette of multiple tones of reds and blacks. All products have been lovingly created in pairs; where there is a red version, there is a black version of the same item.
Our fabulous crystal fairy has been hard at work sourcing the most beautiful crystals. For the first time, we are using a round crystal fancy cut in our bows. We are also featuring a shimmering Preciosa green peacock black crystal in the black silk bubble bows. The Lovebug collection wouldn’t be complete without some glittery black and red tutus, which are also available in an extra-long length for larger dogs!
We have also recruited a new yarn fairy, who has created a bunch of super-cute crochet ladybirds made from hand-dyed silk, dyed exclusively in the UK for this collection. Naturally, these are adorned with shimmering sparkles and are available with barette hair clips or crocodile clips as single bugs or as a pair for ‘mummy and me’.

This month we are launching a brand new, luxurious SS19 collection inspired by one of Shakespeare’s most enchanting plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Combining the twin aspects of the play; the dream world and comedy, this collection is both theatrical and playful. Each and every piece in this collection has been handmade in England using the highest quality silk fabrics, including silk organza and dupion with metallic threads to give a magical sheen and adorned with the finest European crystals.
The Dresses
Made from pastel colours with silk with their large, flowing skirts and beautiful bodices adorned with individual hand-applied European crystals, the dresses in this collection are classically Furdrobe. Both dresses are reversible so their characters can change during their personal journey in the play.
The Queen Titania Ball Gown
With it’s heavily encrusted crystal bodice leading down to light flouncy skirts with a dainty French hand rolled lettuce hem, this show-stopping, statement piece befits Queen Titania, the Queen of the Fairies. Created from coral coloured metallic silk organza and the bodice from silk dupion and adorned with the finest European crystals and butterfly and dragonfly designs. This dress would shimmer perfectly under the lights of any red carpet event, or under the mystical orb lights of the Fairy Queen.

The Duchess Wedding Gown
This dress has been created from the same James Hare dazzling white silk satin as our famous Peacock Ball Gown. This unique wedding dress for dogs has dozens of individually hand-applied European crystals in a butterfly design in different colour crystals from our pallet . Then hem is completed with a white maribou feather trim and 13 handmade silk peach and white roses around the hem. A beautiful, sparkling gown for when your dog says ‘I do’.

The King Oberon Bow Tie
Sparkly and luxurious, the King Oberon Bow Tie has been handmade with metallic silk dupion with silver thread and totally bejewelled with the finest European crystals. It’s the perfect statement bow tie for any dog who wants to add a bit of bling but doesn’t feel comfortable with a full on outfit. Alternatively it goes perfectly with our metallic blue Demetrius jacket.

SS19 Bow Ties
This season, our standard bow ties come in 5 sizes and are reversible so your dog can get two very different looks. With a scattering of crystal on one side and the other side being plain silk, your dogs can select whether they want to sparkle in the evening or enjoy the quiet, understated glamour of the plain silk. The central point of the bow ties twist to whatever side you decide to have on show, so there will always be a sparkly emerald cut sparkle in the centre.

The three magical jackets in this collection are sleeveless - perfect for the warmer summer months. Aptly naked after the three male main characters Puck, Demetrius and Lysander. Created from the finest silks in beautiful blues and greens, these jackets shimmer and shine with their exquisite hand applied crystal designs with butterflies, flying beetles and dragonflies - all the kind of creatures you would find stretching their wings and flying about in a magical forest.

The Furdrobe SS19 Instagram Play
Of course, no version of this play would be complete without some mischievous and whimsical characters. In the run-up to the release, we scouted for models on Instagram in search of the most adorable creatures. We have 22 Instagram accounts and 33 animals in total representing us this season. The main cast is as follows:
King Oberon - Ollie the Sock Thief, a maltese terrier and notorious womaniser.
Nick Bottom - Yoshi, a photogenic chihuahua from the Netherlands.
Queen Titania - Yinti, a beautiful little chihuahua from the Netherlands - The sister of Ollie the Sock Thief.
Hermia - Aggie the Diva, a lovely maltese terrier from New York. The sister of Ollie the Sock Thief.
Demetrius - Bently Badass, a schnauzer and rapper from the States
Lysander - Bently the Pom, a pomeranian and a global fashion icon from LA.
Helena - Gia, a toy poodle and renowned fashionista.
