Furdrobe has an easy A B C measuring guide. We want to make sure you get the right item size first time. All our clothes are designed based on a toy breed such as Chihauhaus and Pomeranians as this is the most popular type of dog to dress. The size guide is also based on a Toy breed. So an XXS is a teacup chihuahua, whereas the M is for a chihuahua with a 12” back. Not a medium sized breed dog like a Spaniel.
If you do have other breeds with different dimensions, we do a made to order services where we will tailor make garments to cater to your dogs personal measurements.
If you are in any doubt please contact us for guidance.
A The Length of the back
Measure along the dog's back between the base of neck to to the base of the tail. This is from the base of where the collar rests to where the tail is attached to body.
B The Circumference of the neck
The size of your dogs neck needs to be measured around the base of the neck where it joins the body. It’s very important that the neck is not too tight as your dog would find it hard to breath.
C The Widest part of the chest
For chest measurement, measure the chest at its widest point, which is just behind the front legs. This is the most important measurement, usually if it fits here the rest of the gown will too.
